BIRTH OF BEAUTY

There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
~Anais Nin

White Spider Lily (Crinum asiaticum)

This beautiful flower was growing in the sand at Ana Marie Island. It obviously loves the beach environment. The plants were numerous and thriving in this hot, humid and salty landscape.

While we were there, tight buds exploded...

into beautiful, tropical blooms.

  1. Oh yes, I've tried to grow this beauty (smells wonderful too, right?), but it refuses to live in the arid west.

  2. Wow --- how lucky you were to capture that. It looks like fireworks in blossom.
