SURPRISE VISITOR

"Surprise is the greatest gift which life can grant us." ~Boris Pasternak

Yesterday morning as I was rushing out of the house for a Physical Therapy session, I looked out onto the water and saw a flock of sea birds--pelicans, gulls, and cormorants. But upon closer inspection I noticed that several of the pelicans where white pelicans. Here it is common to see brown pelicans, but this is the first time I have seen so many white pelicans this far north. I wonder were they lost? or just visiting relatives?
Needless to say, I had to rush back into the house for
my camera and quickly snap some photos before they flew away. Also needless to say, I was late for my PT session because after I shot my pictures, I just hung out and watched until the last one flew or swam away.

BETWEEN THE CLOUDS

"The offing was barred by a bank of clouds, and the tranquil waterway leading to the utmost ends of the earth flowed somber under an overcast sky..."  ~Joseph Conrad

Last night's sunset was a surprise. Dark clouds had plagued us all afternoon, yet just around sunset, a narrow sliver of sky opened and the sun glowed brilliantly for just a short time.

I've missed being on line--some computer problems and some health problems (not serious). But everything seems back on track so I look forward to catching up with all of your posts.
