"Surprise is the greatest gift which life can grant us." ~Boris Pasternak

Yesterday morning as I was rushing out of the house for a Physical Therapy session, I looked out onto the water and saw a flock of sea birds--pelicans, gulls, and cormorants. But upon closer inspection I noticed that several of the pelicans where white pelicans. Here it is common to see brown pelicans, but this is the first time I have seen so many white pelicans this far north. I wonder were they lost? or just visiting relatives?
Needless to say, I had to rush back into the house for
my camera and quickly snap some photos before they flew away. Also needless to say, I was late for my PT session because after I shot my pictures, I just hung out and watched until the last one flew or swam away.

  1. On my gosh, what a thrill! I hope the physical therapist understood.

  2. Great shots!
    Beautiful birds!
    The sunset between the palms...exquisite!

  3. Pelicans look like characters in a children's book. Like they have something wise to say. Second from last, love that one.

  4. Nice catch, BL. I don''t know if I would have noticed the difference. Now I'll have to read up on them. I love the sunset in the earlier post, you're so lucky to have that view.

  5. Meri: When I told the therapist why I was late she was as excited as I, so all was forgiven.

JB: Thanks. They are pretty birds.

AH: That shot was one of those lucky ones that show up on the camera and you ask, Did I take that?

Paula: Yeah, I am lucky to see this view every day. And believe me I'm grateful. Wonder what it will look like in the snow??!! :~((

  6. Wow! I'm sure your therapist forgave you, these are such great shots!

  7. That really was a wonderful view. Indeed you are lucky to enjoy such a view every day. What a wonderful way to relax completely! You can say that you had two good and useful therapy on that day. Besides, you made your therapist day as well as you make my day by these lovely photos.
