FLIGHT OF THE HERON

On one of our recent, colder mornings, this great blue heron was huddled into itself against a cold wind. He stood very still for some time and then with what looked like a shrug, took off--for a warmer place I think.

  1. They're funny that way and once they decide to do something it seems like they're completely focused. And they're so big that I expect them to do more than the average bird, like talk maybe.
