LAST BLOOMS

I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers

And not pick one.
- Edna St. Vincent Millay

There are still hibiscus blooming in the garden, though I doubt for very much longer. It's nice to still see some bright color outside.

  2. These are the highlight of my blogging day, CT, thanks.

I don't know if you're aware of this maxim:
Flowers are covered in pollen and therefore, without special lighting, are nigh on impossible to photograph with digital cameras. Their sensors pick up the pollen cover and render everything grayish. The remedy is to get creative by photographing them from the back or the side, etc. Nice work!

  3. Paula, No I wasn't aware of that and am grateful to you for sharing. Any knowledge that will make my pictures better is always welcome. I was actually kneeling on the ground pulling up a weed and I just shot from that position. No genius, pure luck:)
